Haul #5 - Boxing Day Sale

This year was the first year that I attempted to buy products in the Lush Boxing Day sale. I bought my products online which was a hellish experience, first no one seemed to know exactly when the sale products were going live. I was awake with my computer on at 7:45 am, with both Twitter and the Lush website open. After a lot of waiting and page refreshing I finally managed to place my order.

  • 2 x Golden Wonder Bath Bomb
  • 1 x Five Gold Rings Bubble Bar
  • 1 x Magic Wand Reusable Bubble Bar
  • 1 x Santa's Belly Gift Set
  • 100g of Snowcake Soap
  • 2 x Dashing Santa Bath Bomb

Sandstone Soap

Sandstone Soap
'An uplifting and skin-smoothing citrus soap that brings to mind the beaches of Brazil. Waves of sand and a lemony scent will transport you to a tropical beach, sipping seaside cocktails. We've used the incredibly uplifting litsea cubeba oil to wake up your mind, then wake up your skin with the sandy scrub. It's the perfect soap for summer, or whenever you want to feel bright and breezy.'

This is an overall pleasant soap with gentle citrus notes. The sand that gives this soap it's name is very abrasive, which can be both a positive and a negative quality. This roughness is great to get rid of hard skin on the bottoms of your feet but not for sensitive parts of you skin. Sandstone creates quite a good foamy lather that leaves the skin feeling clean but not dried out. I would consider repurchasing this soap when I have run out of the soap I have.

Sultana Of Soap

Sultana of Soap
'If your skin’s feeling drier than a desert, Sultana of Soap is your oasis. We’ve mixed loads of dried fruits like apricots, cranberries and currants in with olibanum oil, which is fabulous for replenishing moisture and soothing you. To make it smell even more gorgeous, we’ve added a splash of cheering bergamot oil.'

This is currently the soap I am using in the bathroom. It sits in a soap dish in the wall at the side of the bath, which is why I think this soap has been shrinking as quickly as it is. It could also be down to my mother using it when she thinks I'm not aware. This soap doesn't smell particularly amazing, but it does form a silky lather that leaves your hands squeaky clean. I wouldn't object to buying another piece of this soap in the future once my soap pile has shrunk a little more.

The day after I placed my previous order, my anticipated release of 'Love' soap happened. At the time I placed my previous order I was unaware of the release date of this soap, so when I saw this soap was only going to be available for one week, I immediately placed this order, I also purchased the kitchen item at the time.

This order consisted of 4 items: 2 products and 2 samples
  • Love Soap
  • Foot Soak and Fancy Free
  • a sample of Lemony Flutter cuticle butter
  • a sample of Brazilliant shampoo bar

Haul #2

I placed this order not long after hearing the news that some Lush products may be discontinued in the coming months. It's a small haul of only 6 items (5 standard items and 1 Lush Kitchen product) meant to give me a small stash of my favourite products and items I wanted to try before they were gone. The products are:
  • 100g The Godmother Soap
  • Amandopondo Bubble Bar
  • Pumice Power Foot Soap
  • 100g Ice Blue Soap
  • 2 x Space Girl Bath Ballistic
  • a sample of Dirty Massage Bar
  • a sample of Ultrabalm
I will leave links to my product reviews once I used them.

Cupid's Love Soap

Cupid's Love
I have had a piece of this soap near the kitchen sink for well over a month (nearing two) and it seems as if it has stayed the same size. The lather on this soap isn't great, but it does smell delicious, a lot like apple and cinnamon pie, and not like the passion fruit and figs that it contains. The smell however doesn't linger much after use, which can be both positive and negative depending on the situation/person.
Soap usually makes my skin feel dry and over-used but  'Cupids Love' made my skin feel soft and smooth.
